SHELFEXPRESSION: Faeries

Shelfexpression: Faeries!

Faeries have been one of my favorite book subjects as well as figurines to collect for as far as I can remember. There are absolutely more than 5 awesome books about them but these I have on my shelf because I loved them enough to spend money on them. I hope you enjoy!

  1. Tithe – Holly Black

Holly Black used to be my favorite author. Now her books are a little far out for me. Tithe was the book that started my obsession with faeries and I still think it’s a great book and series. I have bought several copies because I lent it then never got it back (twice!)

  1.  Glimmer Glass

Apparently, if your last name is Black you are good at writing about faeries. I love this series (maybe more than Tithe…) but I didn’t find it until after. It was more tense to read but that isn’t a bad thing.

  1.  Wonderous Strange – Lesley Livingston

From the author of The Valiant came this lovely series! I have to admit that I was disappointed with the spinoff of this series but this one is awesome! It has some laugh out loud moments.

  1.  The Iron King – Julie Kagawa

As far as William Shakespeare goes, A Midsummer Night’s Dream is my favorite… Why? Faeries of course! See Puck in a different role in this series. It includes one of my favorite book boyfriends of all time *sigh*

*Fun side note- Julie Kagawa makes little polymer clay dragons and sells them on Etsy but good luck getting one before they are gone!

  1.   Lament – Maggie Stiefvater

I read this one before her Shiver series and I have to say I like it so much more and not just because it has… you guessed it, FAERIES! Two assassins fighting over you and unknowingly threatening the queen, not the best situation, but interesting.
